Ramps
Fixed Ramp (sometimes known as a Fixed Leading Edge)
If a load is static (i.e. pallets or stillages) usually loaded on a pallet truck, it is necessary to incorporate a fixed ramp to facilitate easy access onto the platform, avoiding manual lifting of the load.
Hinged Ramp to Form a Stop
If a load is mobile (i.e. roll cages or containers on wheels), not only is easy access to the platform necessary but also stability of the load whilst on the platform. Hinged ramps to form a Stop form a ramp for access and when locked in the “up” position, form a physical stop to prevent the load rolling off.
Hinged Side Ramps
Similar to hinged Ramp to Form a Stop but mounted on the side of the platform, used for kerbside loading and to prevent the load rolling off the side of the platform where steep cambers occur in the road.
Hook in Ramps
Detachable for occasional use. Usually on the side of the platform, when needed for kerbside loading. Must be detached from platform when in transit. |
